Job Description

This position is responsible for general and preventative maintenance and repairs for several areas including Clubhouses, Grounds Maintenance, Villas, and common areas. The ideal candidate will have familiarity in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen equipment, and comfortable working in a highly collaborative and communicative team environment.  This position is third shift and the go-to for any overnight maintenance repairs.


  • Respond, attend to and complete maintenance repair requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Communicate with co-workers, leadership, members, and invited guests to resolve maintenance situations 
  • Follow Lockout/Tag out Procedures prior to performing maintenance work
  • Ensure interior and exterior lighting is in proper working order throughout the property; ensure adjustments are completed in a timely manner 
  • Able to independently perform preventative maintenance and advanced troubleshooting tasks 
  • Identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings
  • Identify, locate and resolve safety hazard situations and escalate to manager/manager on duty in a timely manner
  • Maintain inventory and requisition parts as needed; proactively manage supply levels to limit out of stock situations 
  • Complete ad-hoc and reoccurring tasks as requested

Education and Experience

  • Minimum one year facilities/building maintenance experience and/or related experience
  • Understanding of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, kitchen equipment and carpentry
  • Familiar with two or more of the following disciplines:  air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing skills, kitchen equipment, energy conservation, and/or general building
  • Hospitality experience highly desired, preferably in a luxury resort and/or private golf club environment 

Skills Needed

  • Familiarity in facilities maintenance with requests completed in a manner that suggests a high level of accuracy, care and attention to detail
  • Property preventative maintenance experience highly preferred
  • Must have strong command of the English language, and able to speak, read and write in English
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with co-workers, managers, members and invited guests
  • Strong relationship, communication and collaboration skills to effectively partner with the facilities group and broader hospitality team
  • Strong desire to be “part of the solution” in an environment with changing and competing priorities
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Flexible approach, based on business demand, and able to work varying working hours and holidays as needed
  • Possess a high level of self-motivation, accountability, use of sound judgement and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
